2 month check up

Carson went for his 2 month check up (even though he's only 6 1/2 weeks old) yesterday. He weighs 12.1 lbs (95%), is 24 inches long (95%), and has a head circumference in the 85% percentile. Dr. Lacy (the best pediatrician ever!!!) said his growth line is not an arc but is a straight line up! He said that's a good thing. Carson is a growing boy and loves to eat, which encourages healthy sleeping habits. Yay, mommy!! He has started taking a couple of short naps (45 min) and a couple of long naps (2-3 hours) a day instead of the six-1 and 1/2 hour naps he was taking. He also still sleeps at night from around 9:30 to 2:30, up for about 45 minutes to eat, and back down til 6:30.

He got 3 shots and cried sooooooooooooo hard for about 10 seconds. It broke my heart!! But then he got it together and was such a strong little man.

I am sleeping much better!! I think I just needed to give myself time to adjust and time for my hormones to settle down and my Lexapro to really kick in. ;) God has also been meeting me exactly where I need him to and of course, has gotten me through all of this HIS way! God deserves all the credit!~He does so much more than I or any anti-depressant could ever do! Thanks be to God!!!

Happy baby!

My little man smiles all the time. Now that we have his acid reflux under control with Prevacid and have him on a pretty good schedule, he is such a happy baby, which, by the way, makes for a very happy mommy and daddy! :)

6 weeks already?

Carson is already 6 weeks old!! I can't believe it. He is getting on a pretty good schedule~it's been pretty much the same for a while but I guess I just realized in the last few days that it may be our regular one. He eats 5.5 oz every 3.5 hours. His last "day" bottle is around 9 pm, he goes down before 10 pm, gets up around 2 am and then again between 6 and 7 am. My goal is to have him sleeping through the night no later than week 9 when I go back to work. He still goes down for naps pretty well unless he has some gas or is overstimulated. Andy and I take turns getting up with him in the middle of the night.

I am experiencing some postpartum insomnia. It is so annoying. I have no reason to be awake because EVERYONE else, including Carson, is asleep but I have the hardest time getting back to sleep if I wake up in the middle of the night. I could easily get up when Carson cries at 2 am, feed him, get him back down within 45 minutes, and be back asleep BUT my mind is racing 1,000 miles an hour, sometimes I only get a few hours of sleep per night! SUCKS!!! But at least I only require a few hours of sleep and can stay in a pretty good mood even though I'm sleep deprived. :) I go for my 6 week check up tomorrow and plan on talking to Dr. Peeler about all that then. Hopefully it's a temporary issue and will be resolved sooner rather than later.

Carson goes for his first round of shots Friday. I wanted to get them as soon as I could since LG goes to preschool everyday and could expose him to some pretty nasty stuff. LG never had any issues after she would get her shots so hopefully that's the way it will be with Carson.

BTW~doesn't Carson look just like his daddy?

Daddy's little friend

Carson is already into watching sports with his daddy.

5 weeks...

Carson is 5 weeks and 2 days old! He has still been relatively easy. He eats 5 oz every 3.5 hours. We switched him to Enfamil AR for a few days because of his acid reflux but didn't really see a positive change. He started getting constipated so we switched him back to regular Enfamil (which is much cheaper, by the way) and started him on Prevacid instead of Zantac. Hopefully, that will do the trick. We have realized that he is VERY gassy and we have to burp him after every ounce which makes bottle time a bit longer. He still only wakes up once a night. Last night he went down at 9:15 and didn't wake up to be fed until 3:30 am. He did, however, stay up until 5 am but then slept until 7 am. He weighed 11 lbs 2 oz at 5 weeks~BIG boy!! I thought he was going to be a quarterback but it looks like we may have a Linebacker!!!

"Peppi" time

My children (LG right now) call my mom "Peppi." It's a long story of how that name came about so I'll spare you but I love that name for her~it's unique and so is she! :) This was she and Carson this morning laying on LG's bed while LG read us all a story. Grandmas are the best, especially our Peppi!!!!

One month old!

Carson is one month old today! I can't believe it! It feels like it's gone by fast but it also feels like we've had him forever! The Zantac seems to be helping so far. He took good naps today and went down relatively easy~easy as you can expect for a one month old. :) He cried it out a couple of times but typically that only lasts at the most 15 minutes. The last two nights he has gone down around 9 pm and has woken up at 1 am for a middle of the night feeding and then again at 6 am. Andy has gotten up at 1 am so I have gotten to sleep through the night, although I do hear him when he gets back in the bed and it takes me a little while to go back to sleep, it's better than having to get up and do the feeding.

I am getting bored at home and can't get Carson out for fear of RSV. I get stir crazy and am trying to keep myself busy so I don't go crazy...er. ;) But I keep reminding myself that Christmas is coming and I'll be back at work before I know it so I need to TRY to enjoy this time off. My mom will be home with me starting Tuesday so that should be fun. I need to stay focused on the positives of the newborn phase~he'll be LG's age before I know it.

4 weeks and a few hiccups...

Well, apparently if there are issues with a newborn they don't really show their heads until you are good and comfortable with how things are going. Not that I am complaining about how easy the past few weeks have been and they are not really all that bad now but Carson has been diagnosed with acid reflux. LG had it and luckily this time we knew what signs to look for...around 4~6 weeks things like acid reflux and cradle cap and gas issues find their way into your baby's life. :( Poor Carson was rocking along, sleeping well, eating well, and generally having a pretty easy life but about a week ago he started grunting and crying out while he was eating and even though I knew what was probably happening (acid reflux), I wanted to believe that he was just gassy. It got progressively worse over the last week and yesterday, he just seemed to be in pain while eating and right after for most of the day. I took him in to see our friend and pediatrician, Dr. Rebekah, and she agreed that it sounded like he had reflux. He is now on Zantac twice a day as was LG. I hope this helps him like it helped her.

He weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs!!! PIG! He eats 5.5 oz every 4 hours but we may be scaling that back a bit considering his stomach is the size of his fist and 5.5 oz is quite a bit to fit in there. I may go back to 4.5 oz every 3.5 hours as that seemed to be working well. Note to self~never mess with a good thing.

LG's 1st Christmas Program

This was LG right before her Christmas program at her daycare last Thursday. There were 5 classes of 3 year olds and each class got up and sang 3 songs. LG and her classmates sang~Happy Birthday to Jesus, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Isaiah 9:6. At the end they said, "Go Jesus, It's Your Birthday, Go Jesus!" and did their hands up like they were "raising the roof!" Hilarious!!!! They also asked all the kids a question about Santa, i.e. What is Santa's favorite food, favorite color, etc. They asked LG and 2 of her friends how Santa gets into their houses. One kid said, "through the tree," but LG being the rational one that she is said..." he can come through my front door." Duh! How else would he get into our house, right? Every other kid said something off the wall but my kid says something that totally makes sense...

In the Big Boy Bathtub!

Carson's belly button stump FINALLY fell off after 3 weeks! It usually takes about 1-2 weeks for it to fall off but apparently my children like to hold on to theirs as long as they can! LG's stayed on for a month. We took her to the dr to make sure everything was OK~he said sometimes it just takes a long time...obviously :)

So, Carson got a "Big Boy Bath" instead of the sponge bath he has been getting. He loved it. He just sat there all warm in his bath water. He did however cry "like a baby" :) when we got him out because he was cold. I wrapped him up in his hooded towel and he quieted down. I then lathered him up in Johnson's baby lotion~I love that smell! LG had eczema so we had to use non-smelling Eucerin lotion and I was so disappointed but so far Carson has been eczema free and smelling like a baby should. :)

3 weeks and still rocking along...

Carson continues to do well. He is getting chunky and I love it! I kiss his little cheeks all the time! He hit a growth spurt on Sunday and was fussy/hungry all day! We upped his formula and he now eats 4.5 oz every 3.5 hours. He stays up for about an hour after his daytime bottles and then I put him in his bed for his naps. I started swaddling him with a swaddling sack that they gave us in the hospital and that seems to have helped him sleep better. We never used anything like that with LG but Carson is SUCH a different baby. He snuggles right in and goes to sleep, no crying, with or without a pacifier. Blessing!! Last night he ate at 8:15 pm, 12 am, 4:15 am and slept until 8:30 am. He goes right back to sleep after his night bottles.

He smiled at me today and has seemed more alert today than previous days. The good days are coming~days filled with sweet sounds, smiles, and sleep filled nights.

This big sister loves her baby brother too!

Andy found our dog, Bella, and Carson sleeping soundly together! How sweet! Bella is just as jealous of our time with Carson as LG is. Whenever we are feeding or holding Carson, she will come and drop a toy on our lap and bark at us to play with her and give her some attention.

Our first elf experience

An elf has come to our house for the first time this year! We felt like LG may be able to appreciate it since she's three but she still does not completely get that he "watches her and goes back and reports to Santa." She named him "Punkin." I have seen other people's blog posts about their elves and the pranks they play so we may start letting our elf play some pranks of his own and maybe that will get LG more into it.

2 week update...

Carson continues to be a wonderful baby! He eats 3.5 oz every 4 hours except for the 4 pm and 8 pm bottles at which time he eats 4 oz. Last night I put him down at 9 pm, he woke up at 12:15 am to eat, was back asleep at 1 am, woke up at 4 am to eat, was back asleep by 4:30 am and woke up at 8 am to eat again. Andy fed him at 12 am and I fed him at 4 am, so getting up once a night and still getting 8 hours of sleep has been fabulous! He has just been so laid back! My mom says that if I "brag" about him, I may jinx it but I don't feel like I'm bragging, I'm just telling it like it is. This has just been the way Carson has been since he was born...if he was up all night and crying all the time I'd be blogging about that, right? So I see no harm in talking about the good too! He stays up after his first 8 am feeding for about an hour and a half and then I put him down for his morning nap when he starts to get fussy. He does tummy time for about 10 minutes in the morning. He also stays up after his 2nd bottle of the day (12 pm) but as the day goes on it gets harder and harder for him to stay up after eating.

LG continues to be difficult. She is so good to Carson and loves on him all the time but she is so hard on us.

We have decorated our house for Christmas. I love looking around at all the decorations! If you know me well, you know it's hard hard HARD for me to sit at home and not be going all the time, so if I have to be cooped up in this house for 6-8 weeks, there's no better time than Christmas time to be confined :).

Tummy Time

Today was Carson's first tummy time. I remember LG hated it but he just laid there and after about 10 minutes, he fell asleep. It may have had something to do with LG laying beside him~maybe he felt more comfortable with his big sister by him :)

LG woke up this morning and said it was her "bottle day" and that she wanted to do it all by herself. She did a great job!

She loves her brother but she is definitely getting in trouble ALOT more these days. She says "No" to me all the time when asked to do pretty much anything. She also tells me that she doesn't want to do what I ask her to do. Patience mama Patience!

It doesn't get any sweeter than this~

I walked into Carson's room tonight and this is what I found~it's a family feeding!! Too sweet!

This little light of mine...

Carson was diagnosed with jaundice in the hospital. The dr told us that it was a mild case and we needed to put him in front of a window for 1 hour a day and let the sunlight hit his skin to fix it. Well, that was easy the first couple of days because it was sunny outside but the last 2 days it has been cloudy. So, Andy went and bought a UV light and we now put Carson under the lamp to help clear up the jaundice. I just think he looks so cute, sad that he has to be under a lamp but so cute nonetheless. :)

So far so good...

Aren't they adorable?! LG has taken so well to her little brother. She wants to hold him, rock him, stroll him, feed him, kiss him goodnight, etc etc etc! She even has a nickname for him, "Cars-Cars." :) She is however having behavioral adjustment issues. She tests us on EVERYTHING we tell her to do. That was pretty much her attitude before he came~she's three so it comes with the territory~but it has definitely gotten worse since Carson has been here.

I am feeling good~healing up nicely :). I've had my mom and Andy here with me ever since we came home from the hospital but everybody (but me) goes back to work tomorrow so hopefully it will stay as easy around here as it has been.

Carson came home on a schedule, not to say that it will stay that way forever but as the title reads~so far so good. He has been eating 2 oz every 4 hours, starting at 6 am and he wakes up 15-30 minutes before each feeding. I have been able to stick a pacifier in his mouth and hold him off until time to eat. I just upped it from 2 oz to 2.5 oz at his last feeding (10 am) because I was noticing that he seemed hungry still. After he eats he may stay awake for 15-30 minutes and then he's right back to sleep. Last night, Andy fed him at 10 pm, he laid Carson down at 10:20 pm. Carson woke up crying at 1:30 am, I gave him his paci and woke him back up at 2 am, fed him, put him back in his bed at 2:30 am. He woke up again at 5:45 am, I gave him his paci and woke him back up at 6 am, put him back in his bed at 6:20 am (LG woke Andy and I up at 8:20 am) and I had to wake Carson up for his 10 am feeding. He stayed up after that feeding til 11 am, I put him in his bed and he is fast asleep.

We had LG in our room until she was 5 weeks old and I heard every sound she made. Carson is in his room and I only hear him when he cries which I think has made a huge difference in my anxiety level. Babies make too many little noises at first (grunts, hiccups, etc) for a new mom to relax so this has been the best for us.

I'm going to try to keep posting regarding Carson once a week like I was before to keep a journal of his growth and development. We take him to the dr on Wednesday morning for his 1 week check-up so I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

It's 11-15-11 and we present to you...

7 lbs 7 oz, 21 1/2 in, 12:40 PM
Day 1
Day 2
Obviously, this is right after delivery and 3 bags of fluid :). I look like the Michelin man! Without going into too much detail, I was induced. The labor took a total of 8 1/2 hours and I only pushed for 10 minutes!!! Yay!
Proud papa holding his baby boy!
LG was sooo excited to see her baby brother. She walked straight in and told Andy to give her her baby brother! She jumped up on the couch and said, "Come here, hun." LOL!!! This is LG, Carson and my cousin, Jennifer.
This picture was taken as we were about to leave to go to the hospital at 3:30 AM. I took one in the same place with LG so I plan to post the comparison pics soon!

39 weeks and off we go!!!

I am scheduled to be induced tomorrow morning. We have to be at the hospital at 4 am. I am experiencing all types of feelings. I am excited to see Carson first and foremost! However, I am nervous about all the stuff that labor entails. I am trying really hard not to focus on the details and just focus my attention on the fact that I will finally not be pregnant and will be holding my sweet baby boy. Of course, the thought of having my blood pressure taken multiple times is scary for me but I got through it the first time~just got to suck it up! I am also not looking forward to the recovery~all things that I didn't know about the first time. The upside is that there are a lot of things I do know about now and will be more prepared to bring a newborn home, knowing better what to expect in the weeks to come.

I am also missing my dad alot right now. He was at the hospital the whole day the first time. He sat at the foot of my bed in a chair, talking to me, reading a book, and just basically being there to comfort me for hours. I remember his presence so much that I even remember what he was wearing on that day! I am taking a picture of him to use as my "focal point" just to remind myself that even though he is not there physically, he wouldn't miss this day. I know he will be there in spirit~I truly believe that!

I am taking my laptop to the hospital and will be posting pics as soon as I can! Keep all of us in your prayers!!

Mommy's sippy cup

My friend, Alisha, had this glass made for me. It reads, "Mommy's Sippy Cup" and has blue and pink pacifiers all over it! I love it!!! It will definitely get some use in the near future!

Dr's appt update

My fluid is still low. Dr. Peeler said I could go to the hospital if I wanted to but that he would not be able to be there to deliver the baby because he has a wedding to go to!!! Are you kidding me?!! I thought the birth of my baby was more important than any stinking wedding but apparently not :). He and the ultrasound tech both said it would be safe for me to wait until Tuesday (my scheduled induction day) to have Carson so wait we shall.

I have gained a total of 29 lbs at this point. I gained 28 with LG so it's looking like I'm on the same track. Although I do plan to eat very well this weekend (Ciao Bella tonight, pumpkin scone from Starbucks tomorrow, donut at church on Sunday) so I may put on a few more lbs by Tuesday!!! BP still holding steady at the therapist's office (124/83). It'll be funny to see how far it goes up from my anxiety in the hospital.

Funny story~when I went to the hospital with LG my first BP reading was 190/97. Alarmed, they took blood and thought I was "toxic." Of course it came back clear and I told the nurse when she told me the results, that I knew I was not toxic, just crazy! With that she brought me a Valium! True story, I swear!!!!

Carson's room

I didn't want to post pics of Carson's room until we had it completely finished. Although, there are 2 shelves up that have nothing on them so technically it is not 100% done but those things will have to come later. I figure I'll put some picture frames with pics of Carson's ultrasound, newborn pics and some of he and his big sis up there. For now just look at what we do have :)

The theme of the room is whales. I have always wanted to do whales for a boy after my friend, Jill, did that for one of her boys.

I absolutely love these wall appliques and knew this was the one for us when I got all teary-eyed when I read it for the first time. If you can't make out the words it reads, "Your first breath took ours away." LOVE IT!!!!!

Andy's older brother, Charles, painted the canvases for us and made the wooden letters that are over the bed. He did a great job! We may get him to add one more whale canvas so each whale can represent a member of our new family of 4.

So the room is done for now. All we need is a baby to go in it! :)

38 weeks

It is getting harder and harder to be pregnant! I think this is God's way of helping us get emotionally and mentally ready for labor. If you felt great, then you may think of all the scary things you were about to encounter, i.e. labor, recovery, new baby, etc. However, at the end, you are so ready to have the baby because you are so uncomfortable that you don't even think about those things~you think about how ready you are to NOT be pregnant anymore!!! :)

My feet and ankles are swelling, the right side more so than the left~so sexy!!!! Also, I keep getting this shooting pain down my inner thigh of my right leg~sometimes it hurts to even take a step. I hate to complain but I want to get all this down so I will remember what was going on at this time in the pregnancy. You quickly forget what it's like to be pregnant~again, I think that's God's way of protecting us and helping us to give our first children siblings. :) I will have another ultrasound on Friday and see Dr. Peeler~I'll post the details as soon as I can.

Could it be 11-11-11?????

No pictures to post because Carson is so pressed up in my belly that there wasn't much to see but there is news to report. He is measuring at 6 lbs 15 oz and looks to be doing just fine. However, the amniotic fluid is "a little low." Neither the tech nor Dr. Peeler seemed to be concerned but Dr. Peeler wants to see me back next Friday for another ultrasound. He also said that at that time he may send me straight to the hospital if need be. When I first found out I was pregnant and that the due date was 11-21-11, I said that it would be sooooo cool if I had him on 11-11-11. Well, next Friday is 11-11-11 so we'll see if I had a little bit of a premonition way back in March. :)

I'll keep you posted!!!

Where did that come from?!

LG had her school pictures last week. Andy picked up the proofs earlier this week. When he called me to tell me about the pictures he said, "I'll just let you look at them." No description, just a little laughter under his breath. I get home and take one look at the pics and said, "Where the heck did that BIG HORRIFIC PURPLE BOW THAT DOESN'T EVEN MATCH come from?!!!!! Are you kidding me? I did not send her to school with a bow. We don't even own a bow that big...what would make someone think it was OK to put a BIG HORRIFIC PURPLE BOW THAT DOESN'T EVEN MATCH on her head?

I have to say though, she still looks precious and although I won't be buying any of these pics, I will put one in her book to document her first preschool pic as well as the "bow incident." :)

We made it!!!

Carson and I made it to 37 weeks!!! I am so glad! The above picture is dark but it's really the best that can be expected at work using an I-phone. :)

I feel ALOT of pressure!! Sometimes it is difficult to walk. I have pains that shoot down the inside of my right leg mostly towards the end of the day. I am also sore on the inside of my thighs like I have been doing squats for hours. I know I did not experience that with LG. The nurse from my OB's office called yesterday and said I am officially scheduled to have an induction on November 15th~I have to be at the hospital at 4 AM!!!!! Hopefully Carson's a morning person like I am :). I am scheduled for an ultrasound and my check up Friday and I will update right after that. Hopefully I'll be able to post a pic or two. :)

Halloween Party

LG and her classmates got to wear costumes to school today. They are having a Halloween party. She was so excited to get to carry her "punkin bag" to collect candy in! I think it's actually a bat but whatever. :)

So stinkin' precious!!!

After Andy took LG's picture, all her friends wanted their picture taken. Andy said LG refused to get in the picture with all the other kids. His rationale was that "she stands alone."

36 weeks~OMG!!!

I went to the OB today for my check-up and have gained another pound, bringing my total to 26 so far. BP was good (at the therapist:). But the BIG news is that I am now 2 cm!!! Also, Carson has dropped into a super low position~I won't go into details about how we know that fact ;). Dr. Peeler scheduled an induction for November 15th but doesn't think I will make it to that day! I can't believe it!!!! November 15th is 6 days before my due date and he doesn't even think I'll make it there!!!!!! I was not expecting to hear that! I just pray I make it to Monday so I will officially be full-term.

I feel a lot of pressure and some discomfort from the weight of him dropping. I am scheduled to have an ultrasound next Friday to see just how big this little man is so we can decide on c-section or regular delivery.

I am really excited!!!!

What?!~No Pictures???!!!

My good friends, Alisha and Carrie, threw me a fabulous baby shower this past Saturday and I have not one picture to show for it! Alisha's house was decorated beautifully and the food was amazing!! So many of my friends and family attended. We feel so blessed to have so many people who love us and are excited to see baby Carson! Thanks girls for a wonderful lifelong memory!

Loving "Life in the Fishbowl"

Emily~

I have tried to comment on your blog several times but for some reason I can't (from ANY computer!) This was the only way I could! I enjoy your posts so much and am so excited for you and your "minnow!" I love that you call him/her minnow! However, it did take me a few posts before I realized how that was tied to your name :).

Thanks for all your sweet comments on my posts! Can't wait to watch your journey down the pregnancy road!~It's a definite experience!!

35 weeks!!!

Wow! 35 weeks~not that a basketball under your shirt isn't proof enough but it became more real yesterday when the dr said I am already 1 cm dilated!!! I can't believe it. That didn't happen with LG! He told me to "pack my bag" but of course, you know it was already packed. :) Everything else was great~I've gained a total of 25 lbs at this point and my BP was good (at my therapist's office, of course :)

I am having a little acid reflux every now and again, nothing like the first pregnancy when I had to take prescription meds to keep from bursting into flames! Sleep is about the same and my eating hasn't really changed all that much. I am really into pumpkin right now~pumpkin pie, pumpkin scones, pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin smells (candles, etc.) It's a good thing it's that time of year! :) Andy called me from Kroger yesterday and asked if I needed anything and I told him to bring me a pumpkin pie!!! It was good, nothing like homemade but still hit the spot!!!

The effects of Mimi's house

Lilley Grace spent the night with Andy's mom (Mimi) Friday night. She picked her up at 5:45 pm and they went to Chuck E. Cheese, the yogurt place, to ride the escalators at Dillard's and then home to eat dinner. Needless to say, LG's 8 pm bedtime was not met. Mimi wouldn't even tell us what time LG went to bed so I can only imagine that it was probably somewhere close to 11 pm! The next morning she woke up at 6:30 am (she usually sleeps til at least 6:45) and they played, had donuts, went to the park, fed the ducks and came home around 12 pm. LG was a mess from the second she got out of the car. She was in desperate need of a nap! We put her down at 1:30 and she slept until almost 5!! She usually sleeps a max of 2 hours so Andy went in to check on her after 3 hours and this is what he found. She has never gotten out of her bed and certainly never slept on the floor. LOL! I can only attribute this to a Mimi induced delirium. :)

We LOVE Halloween!!!

We go all out with decorations at our house for Halloween! We seem to be the one of the only houses on our neighborhood that decorates. I think that's sad! I remember when I was little, I loved to see how people would decorate for Halloween so I vowed I would go all out when I had my own house! LG loves it too, especially the blow up ghosts, AKA "ghosties," in the front yard. Note the spider climbing up the house in the first pic~Andy always puts in a different location each year. It's fun to come home and see where he has put it.

This is a pic of our "graveyard"~it's hard to see but there is a skeleton coming up out of the ground and three headstones :) LOVE IT!!!

This is the front the house in it's entirity
This is the front yard with the "ghosties." As you can see LG is standing beside them :) She is so proud!

The inside of the house is just as decorated! I will post pics of that later. Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!!!

Birthday party at school

My birthday is Saturday and my friends at work decided we would celebrate it at work today!! My friend, Noha, made me a cake! It was soooooo good! As a joke, Tamara told Noha that I was turning 40 so she got candles to reflect that! When Noha found out I was only 35, she apologized. All the girls thought that was just hilarious!!!!! I told Noha not to worry, she could take my pic with the 40 year cake but that I would have to hold up a sign to correct it :)

Kathy decorated my door with a Birthday banner and balloons! Tamara, Teresa, and Norma had flowers and balloons delivered to me at school! I love my girls! I couldn't ask for better co-workers and friends!!!!

34 weeks

Week 34 is here! This pregnancy has flown by! I definitely did not say that about the first pregnancy~I felt like I was pregnant forever with LG, but not this time. I'm not sure what to attribute that to...maybe because I am so busy with LG or because the middle of my pregnancy was through the summer this time and that always flies by. Hmmmm...not sure.

I packed mine and Carson's bags for the hospital last night, only because friends kept telling me that I needed to...isn't it a little early for that? Anyway, I guess he could technically come at any time but let's pray that he waits til November 15 (scheduled induction day). I was having braxton hicks contractions ALL THE TIME at this point when I was pregnant with LG but this time I have only a few a day and they are very spread out. They are getting more intense though which causes me to wake up sometimes in the middle of the night. Otherwise everything is pretty much the same.

What about me?????

My mom made a cake a couple of weekends ago and when she was all done she gave LG the beaters to lick...what happened to me getting the beaters?!That's OK...I went and licked the bowl :)

Please disregard the closet in the background...this is what happens when the daddy takes the pics. The mommy would've closed the door first!

Cedar Hill Farms

We took LG to Cedar Hill Farms in Hernando this past weekend. We had a blast! There is so much to do. You can visit the pumpkin patch, the petting zoo, ride the "train," shoot a potato cannon, go on a hayride, go through a corn maze, take a pony ride, etc. We visited the petting zoo...

Took a pic with the turkeys (I felt so sorry for these turkeys~if they only knew what was to come next month :( )

Fed the horses
LG was a little apprehensive at first when feeding the animals

but she quickly got the hang of it and moved on to feed the goats

Then, she and her daddy (and her buddy, Alex) rode the train

Here they are pulling back into the "station"

We went and got our pumpkins from the "pumpkin pavilion." It was getting too hot for me to go digging around the pumpkin patch but we will be going back soon to ride the ponies and check out some more of their attractions!!
