Is it possible...

for a 3 month old to weigh 18 lbs 13 oz?!!! Obviously it is because mine does!! Andy took Carson to the dr today because he has a giant ringworm on the back of his head! Worst place possible! To cure ringworm in the scalp one has to take an oral medication and 3 month olds cannot take those oral medications!! So~he is on a special shampoo and lotrimin cream for 3-4 WEEKS!! If it doesn't clear up in a few weeks or at least look better, he has to go to a dermatologist to get a skin scrape. That just sounds like it hurts and I'm sure it does. But Dr. O'Brien was really more concerned about the fact that he weighs so much. She said we could probably back down off the formula and he would still be getting enough but she doesn't know my child! If we backed down to 6 oz every bottle, he would kill us in our sleep! :) We have hit the ceiling of the formula at 40 oz a day so we won't be going any higher but I'm definitely not going down either. I'll keep you posted on the massive ringworm!

D.I.V.A.

This was LG on our way to church Sunday. Of course she has to have her sunglasses on! But the real situation here is the battle I have been in with her hair for the last several months. I have tried headbands, small bows, barrettes, clips, etc. etc. etc. The hair was winning~all of those hair holders would either fall out of her hair or slip down into her face! But I was not going to be defeated! As you can see I bought the biggest bow I could find with a clip that could take on LG's hair and WIN!!! Take that, curls!!!

Picture day

LG has her class picture today so I asked Andy to send me a picture of her all dressed up with her cute new headband bow and dress on. I also had this cute little polo and jeans out for Carson to wear so I asked him to send me a picture of him too. The picture below is what I got...

LG has her sunglasses on so I can't see her headband, she has her knee up so I can't see her dress, and she's not smiling, or even looking at the camera for that matter!! Carson has a jacket over his polo and his paci in his mouth so I can't even see his cute smile!! All Andy heard was "take a picture." Men...

Life Lessons from a 3 year old...

LG got in the car this morning with Andy and Carson and on their way to school, she said:

"Daddy, life lesson number 52-1-7...when your mama asks you do you want a brother or a sister, sometimes you don't always get what you ask for."

These are words to live by learned from Olivia~a cartoon pig. :)

Gotta love her!

So, I don't even know where to begin with this one...Tamara Bradshaw. We work together but she is definitely more to me than just a co-worker. We have been on trips together for work, spent the night with each other at the casino, gone out to "the club" together, spent countless hours in professional developments and in our offices just cutting up!! She is hilarious! She went to boarding school in New Hampshire for high school. She applied to the school on her own, bought her own plane ticket and went to Phillips Exeter Academy~super prestigious Northern school~on scholarship! She hung out with some pretty rich people but never felt like she didn't belong. She doesn't worry about that kind of stuff, she's confident and can get along with anybody. She is fluent in Spanish and knows something about everything. She has been all over the world, lived in Spain for a year, and went to Tulane University in New Orleans! She has two daughters who are lucky to have a mom like her! She has the best outlook on life. She doesn't let anything get her down and oh Lord, is she wild??!!! She wouldn't let me take her picture for this post because she said she hates pictures so she said she'd send me one. And this is the picture she sent me...

the sexy one!!! Really?? I said I was posting it on my blog not on Match.com!!! LOL! Anyway, today we were talking and I told her I wanted a big dog, one that didn't shed.
She replied, "Good luck with that."
Me: "Why do you say that?"
Bradshaw, "Because it's a DOG!"
Me: "I have Bella and she doesn't shed."
Bradshaw: "That's a rat."

LOLOLOL!!!! She is so quick and funny!! I absolutely love her and am so glad to have found such a fabulous friend!

Always a story...

Since I was little, people have always asked me to tell them a "Jo Lilley story." If you don't know who Jo Lilley is, she's my mama. Let me tell you, there are some FUNNY stories about Jo Lilley. By the way, you can't say just Jo, everybody says Jo Lilley (first and last names). LOL! My daddy was a great story teller and to hear him tell one of her stories would have you laughing for days! One time a good friend told me that the one thing I'm really good at is telling a story, so "big ups" to my dad for passing along the gift and "bigger ups" to my mom for giving us material! For example, she needed to refill a prescription one time and she kept calling Walgreen's but the line was busy. After the entire afternoon of it being busy, I finally asked her what # she was calling. She explained that she was calling the # on the bottle that read, "Patient #. You know," she said, "the # that the patients are supposed to call." I said, "No, that's the PATIENT'S PHONE #, crazy woman!! You've been calling your own phone # all day!!!!!!" Bahahahahahahaha!!

So, here's the story for the day:

My mom and I both left for work around 6:30 am. Andy doesn't leave the house til around 7:30 am and he always calls me on the way to drop the kids off. This morning he calls me and says, "Guess what is in my passenger's seat." I said, "What?" He says, "One black shoe with a silver buckle." Puzzled, I sat there for a second and then it hit me! My crazy mother wore two different shoes to work!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!~they are two totally different shoes! Please see the picture below! One covers almost the whole top of her foot and the other is about two inches different on top!!

Oh, dear Lord, please tell me that's not hereditary and comes on with age!!

14 weeks and a milestone

I wasn't going to post every week once Carson got through the first couple of months. I was going to start posting on a monthly basis but he happened to hit a milestone on the day of his 14 week birthday so I'm posting about it!

For the last couple of weeks, Carson has been giving me cues that he needed a different feeding/sleeping schedule. For example, he was falling asleep between 7:45-8 pm and sleeping straight through his bath and last feeding at 10 pm. Then he started getting hungry around the 3 1/2 hour mark instead of 4 hours. I wanted to try to wait until next weekend to try something new but I couldn't hold him off anymore. So, he ate 8 oz at 6 am, 9:30 am, 1 pm, 4:30 pm, and 8 pm. He fell asleep in his swing around 6:45 pm and slept through his bath and bottle at 8 so I was scared he wouldn't sleep through the night but surprisingly he did!!! LG helped me bath him and she lay on the floor watching Olivia while I fed him. She kissed him goodnight and I put him down around 8:20. He cried out for a second around 5 am and when Andy and I went in at 6 am, he was laying in his bed just looking around. So stinkin' precious!!!! His diaper was soaked through (which never happened with LG~maybe it's a boy thing) so I guess I'll have to invest in some nighttime diapers.

Andy sent me a picture of the dynamic duo before he took them to school this morning and the message attached to the pic was, "I would like to introduce big sister in charge and Mr. Green Jean Butter Bean. " LOL!!!!! Also, notice that they both have their hands in their mouths. Perfect~let's just spread the germs all around!!

Another first~when I went to pick him up from daycare yesterday, he was sitting in an exercauser for the first time. I screamed and ran back out to my car to get my phone so I could get a picture!!

He is so big!! Ms. Valerie said he is the youngest in the class but eats the most! Imagine that!!

Out of town "fix"...

While I was gone this weekend I asked Andy a few times to send me pics of my babies so I could get "my fix." He sent me some cute ones, but this one takes the cake!!! I am so in love!!!

And here's a pic of LG when she was around Carson's age...they look just alike and both loved to stick their tongues out to the side!

Girls' Weekends are a MUST!!!!!

This past weekend I went with a few of my dearest friends to Nashville. We had a fabulous time!!!

(clockwise from the left)

Lauren, Jenny, me, Katie, & Kim

We got several recommendations for places to eat and shop and that's exactly what we did all weekend~EAT & SHOP!!! I swear I gained 10 lbs!
Friday night we went to this great restaurant, Tin Angel. The food and drinks were wonderful. Then we shopped on Saturday from 9 am until 10 pm! We ate lunch in Franklin at Dumplins, and yes, I ate chicken n dumplins. :) We went to the Franklin square and the Cool Springs Mall. These girls dragged me all over Nashville and the surrounding areas doing some antique shopping. As you can see I was more like a kid who's bored and just touching everything to be touching it~this is a fox stole and when I say fox, I mean the actual unstuffed body of a whole fox~nose, ears, feet, claws and all!! I walked around wearing it for about 30 minutes. Kim kept saying, "Michelle, take that off!" LOL!!!

but it was all worth it by the time we got to the Green Hills Mall because I got to visit some fantastic stores!! They have all my favorite people in one place~Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Coach, but best of all they had GUCCI!!! I tried to resist the urge to go in because I knew once I was in...but...sigh...I couldn't stop myself and the rest is history! :)

By the time we got done shopping and tried to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, the wait for a table was 2 1/2 hours so we ate a quick dinner at a famous little restaurant, San Antonio Taco Co, AKA "Sat Co" instead. Then we went back to our hotel and had drinks and dessert in our hotel restaurant. I ordered a piece of chocolate cake and got half of a cake! It's a little dark but you get the point.

We ended the weekend at the famous "American Pickers" store, Antique Archaeology, on Sunday. It wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It was basically a t-shirt shop with a few antiques in it, that were NOT for sale...weird. Needless, to say, I had a blast and can't wait to do it again!!

3 months old

Carson turned 3 months old yesterday. I remember when he was just a few weeks old, thinking I can't wait until he's 3 months old so he will be on a sleep schedule and he will be interacting more...I do love this stage but it is all happening so fast this time. It is so different with Carson. I want to hold him all the time and savor every little sound he makes and smile that comes across his face. I love bathing him and feeding him at 10 pm because it is just he and I and he is so sweet and cuddly. He is so much more laid back than LG. He just chills in his bouncy seat or his swing and only cries if he is really hungry or really tired. She didn't cry a lot either but she was just more demanding.

This was him yesterday morning right before Andy took him to daycare...just chillin'

His shirt has a whale on it and reads, "I am whaley cute!!"

He sleeps a few hours a day at different times, so his naps are not consistent yet but he always falls asleep around 8 pm. He gets his last bottle at 10 pm but I am considering feeding him every 3 1/2 hours instead of every 4 so I can give him his last bottle at 8 and he can go to sleep then for the night. He wakes up between 5:30 and 6 am. I make him wait til 6 am to eat...mean mommy :) He and his sister are still the best of friends. He is the first person she wants to see when she wakes up in the morning and he smiles whenever he hears her voice.

This was them this morning before school (and clearly before LG's hair had been fixed :)

It just doesn't get any sweeter, cuter, or better than this!!!

Valentine's Day

LG is beyond excited about Valentine's Day today! She screamed, "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, MAMA!!!" to me this morning. We got her a balloon and some Valentine's MandM's. She also has a V-Day party today at school. She told me to have fun at my Valentine's party too. I didn't have the heart to tell her that we don't have a V-Day party at my school. LOL!!!

She and Carson both have Valentine's shirts for today (thanks to our friend, Alisha). LG must have shown us all her shirt a hundred times between yesterday and today, saying, "Look what I'm wearing tomorrow!!" She also has socks and a jacket with hearts on them so they were deemed by her as appropriate for today. :) Notice that LG has her "shades" on her head and Carson's shirt reads, "Ladies Love Me!" Hahahahaha!!!!

Pauli-Hulk

LG is the "star student" at her school next week. This means she gets to bring 5 of her favorite items and pictures of our family to show to her class. She also got to bring Pauli-Hulk home for the weekend. Pauli-Hulk is the parrot she is "feeding" in the above picture. She gets to draw a picture of what she and Pauli-Hulk do and tell a story about it. Andy and I have to help her write it in a book with those stories of her classmates who were previously star students. She got P-H yesterday and he ate dinner beside her, slept with her, ate breakfast with her and is going to spend the night at her Mimi's with her tonight. I'm sure he will go to church with us tomorrow. As you can see, she is SO excited to have Pauli-Hulk with her!

A little Lou goes a long way...

Bella LouAnn is always right underneath my butt, no matter what I'm doing. LG and I are sitting on the big chair and there she is...just staring at us. When I sleep, she sleeps right against me. When I feed Carson, she brings a toy and drops it on my leg. If Carson is in the way, she jumps on the back of the couch and drops it on my shoulder. She is far more jealous of my time with Carson than LG is. She won't eat until I am in the kitchen fixing my food and if I'm out of town she won't eat until I come home. She waits for me to get out of the shower everyday (like a stalker) so she can lick my legs and feet, especially after I put my lotion on! I never get a break from her! But, if anything ever happened to her, I would be devastated! As much as she gets on my nerves, she is my 4 lb baby girl! When she's sweet, she's really sweet! Love you, Lou!

I never know...

...if LG is really sick!!! She started coughing last week and had a low grade fever. I took her in to the dr. on Saturday morning. She was bouncing around the office like she was feeling great! The dr said she had some sinus drainage but was fine otherwise. He said the fever she had was not even considered fever. OK...and he said to give her some hot apple juice and honey. Huh? Anyway, she was complaining of shooting pains in her left ear so I made an appointment with her ENT (Dr. Jeff Cunningham~the best, CUTEST ENT ever!!!) on Monday. By Monday LG had an ear infection in her right ear (not the ear that was hurting) and fluid behind both ears, which is probably the reason for the pains in her left ear. He put her on an antibiotic and an
antihistamine. We have to go back in 6 weeks for a hearing test and to check to see if she needs a 2nd set of tubes. I sent her to school yesterday because she "seemed" fine and wasn't running a fever. By 11 am they were calling me to come get her because apparently 100.4 is considered fever. Whatever~who decides these rules anyway? They gave me a letter with the date and time on it and said she couldn't come back until she was fever free for 24 hours. DUH!!! This is not my first rodeo. So, we are home again today and she is acting perfectly fine.
I have to keep telling her to sit still because she is supposedly sick. Sick, not sick, fever, not fever, ear infection, clear ears, this mother thing gets more confusing by the day. :)

How long will the sharing last?

When LG gets up in the morning, Carson is already awake. This morning Carson was laying in mine and Andy's bed when she woke up. She spoke to him and then went back to her room and then to his room to gather up some lovies and a blanket. She put her lovey (Foxy), his lovey (Puppy), and a little stuffed monkey beside him and then covered them all up with her favorite, have to have to sleep, Dora Blanket. :) So, in other words, she is sharing her most prized possessions with her little brother...Andy got a picture of it because we know this is too good to last!

A wardrobe change!

I always lay Carson and Lilley Grace's clothes out the night before so Andy can get them dressed in the morning and take them to school/daycare. I leave at 6:30 am so I'm already gone by the time he gets them dressed. I laid out a 3 month outfit for Carson~LOL!~Oops, he is obviously too big for a 3 month outfit! :) Andy called me and said, "I think the outfit you laid out is too small...the buttons are pulling open." I said send me a pic and I'll let you know what I think. Well, I think this outfit is about 2 sizes too small!!

So I left it to Andy to pick out his outfit for today and it is no surprise that this is what he ended up wearing :)Andy explained that "today is game day!!" Sounds good to me! GO TIGERS!!!!!!
