Off to Kindergarten

I can't believe Lilley Grace is in Kindergarten! I think every parent goes through a period of denial with any major transition in their kids' lives, at least I hope so because I am struggling!
LG, on the other hand, couldn't be more excited! She loves her class, school, teacher, and especially that she gets to "ride the bus on the big street with no seat belt." Really?~that's the most exciting thing about kindergarten? Oh, to enjoy the small things in life...;)
We went the week before she started and toured the school, met her teacher, and got familiar with her new room.
This is the front of the school.
This is her classroom~doesn't that look like such fun? It made me want to be an elementary school counselor for about 6 minutes and then I was brought back to reality by the chaos once more kids got in the room.
While I'm checking out where her cubby is, signing up for various committees and treat months, putting her school supplies in the appropriate bins, etc., LG and Daddy are making sure there are plenty of things to play with. :)
We found the activity room on our tour and LG ran up on the stage and told asked me to take her picture while she posed. LOL! Wonder where she gets that from...
This is her teacher whom several of our friends whose children had her previously say is the sweetest lady. That's one of the pluses of living in a small town~someone you know well knows someone you would like to know better. ;)
This is the first day of school. Of course, Andy and I both went in to work late so we could walk her into her classroom. She was soooo excited.
This picture says it all!
**I was so optimistic about this year since her partner in crime is at another school but since this picture 2 weeks ago, she has already received a write up from school for being on red. I got it yesterday and was asked to sign it indicating I saw it. There were several lines that can be checked indicating which issue the student was having. Out of about 15 lines, 7 were checked!!! Things like, not raising your hand to talk, talking when you're not supposed to, playing in the bathroom, playing in the cafeteria, not staying in your seat, etc...at the bottom of the note it read. "Please talk to Lilley Grace about obeying." What?!!!! I was livid and embarrassed! I told LG that she embarrassed me and she said, "You weren't embarrassed, you weren't even there." I had to stop, breathe, and remember that she is in the concrete thinking stage of development and that she was literally thinking how could I be embarrassed when I wasn't at school with her. I explained that she is a reflection of me and that it better not happen again. We'll see...

Autocorrect~gotta love it!

So~I was texting my sister-in-law the other night and inviting her to a get together at my cousin's house the next night. The text was supposed to read, "What about tomorrow night? R u busy? It's at JENNIFER'S at 5" and when I reread it, the phone had autocorrected Jennifer to heifer (picture below). LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!
If the shoe fits...bahahahahahaha!

Trying to catch up!

I have missed blogging so much because I have missed the little things that were funny throughout the summer. However, I am going to try to catch up as much as possible in just 3 pictures!
LG and Carson have become the best of friends. He runs in to wake her up every morning screaming~"Ta! Ta!"~which is his way of saying sista (and yes, we say it with a little ghetto twang!) One night earlier this week she spent the night out and when he went to her door the next morning and she wasn't there, he sat on the floor and cried. Lilley Grace told my mom yesterday that she loved all of us with 25 loves but loved Carson with 100!! Prayers answered with their relationship.
I tried to get a picture of them together in their 4th of July outfits...this was the best I could do.
Carson is 33 lbs and still loving to eat. He has not leveled off, for all those people who say once they start walking, they slim down. No~he's still huge, still off the charts and I am loving every ounce of him!! One Saturday morning I gave both he and LG some donut holes. LG took half of hers and put them on his tray in addition to the 5 he already had. I told her that I appreciated her sharing but that he did not need all those donut holes. I then took some off of his tray and gave them back to LG at which time, Carson screamed and began to pick up the remaining donut holes so I couldn't get them. Since he couldn't hold all of them in his hand, he stuck a couple under his arm~look closely beside the "C" in crabby~yep, that's a donut hole. And you see the look on his face, like, "don't even think about taking these!"
Lastly, LG is going to Kindergarten in one week! Man, time flies! So, we had to go get her 5 year check up and shots. :( She sure does love her dr~Dr. Lacy. He is precious! I love him as well.
Height~44 in~95th percentile
Weight~44 lbs~80th percentile
Healthy and on track with her development in all aspects.
I have been back at work for 3 weeks~now that we're Shelby Co. Schools, counselors are 11 month employees. I am totally fine with that because it means more money!! Yay! The students start Monday, LG starts Thursday, Andy is at his busiest, we're trying to sell our house, I'm involved in a small side business~more on that later, Carson will move up to another classroom, Wednesday night church starts back in September, football season begins (Roll Tide), etc etc etc...Carpe Diem!
