Busy Bunnies

We had a wonderful, and busy, weekend this Easter weekend.
Friday, Andy worked, Carson went to daycare, and LG and I spent the day with Peppi. LG affectionately called it a "girls' day." We ran some errands and went to eat lunch at Chili's.
Saturday morning we took the kids to hunt Easter eggs at our church, 2PC and then we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Sadly, I have no pictures from either place. :(
Sunday, the kids woke up to Easter baskets full of goodies from the Easter bunny. We went to church. I loved Sandi's Easter sermon. I also love seeing everybody all dressed up.
Family pic outside the church.
We went home and changed and spent the afternoon at Andy's mom's house with his family. The kids each got another Easter basket and hunted eggs filled with more candy.
Carson is saying, "ooooohhhh, candy!"
 Cousins playing on the swings
When we got home, the kids wanted to play with their bubble guns that they got from the Easter bunny.
After bath, LG wanted to read one of the books she got to Carson.
(Berenstein Bears and the Truth)
We had a fabulous holiday! It went so fast! Luckily we can celebrate that Jesus died and rose again everyday if we want to!! :)

Is he real?

Last night on the way home from picking the kids up from daycare, I asked LG if she was excited about the Easter Bunny coming this weekend. She said, "Mom...the Easter Bunny is not real." She said it very matter of factly. I said, "What?! Who told you that?" I'm in full panic mode thinking how do I make this right?! She said, "Nobody. How can a bunny get around to all those houses? It's just somebody who gets up in the middle of the night." (Clearly, someone has told her this.) I said, "Who gets up in the middle of the night?" She said, "I've never seen him so I don't believe in him." I said, "You've never seen Jesus but you believe in Him."
OK~let me pause and say that as soon as that came out of my mouth I thought, "I can't believe I just compared the Easter Bunny to Jesus." And I also thought of how there's lots of people who don't do the whole Easter Bunny/Santa Claus thing because they don't want their child to think they lie to them and then get confused about Jesus. So all this is going on in my head and do you know what my cynical little church going child said? She said...
"Jesus lives in my heart. I've seen him like 1 hundred, thousand, million times...and the Bible!"
God is amazing! He does it all! I do nothing! Right then I was reminded of that. Thank you God for serving me a great big slice of humble pie out of the hands of the child you made for ME!

I love Lucy!

This picture was taken while we were getting ready for my friend's wedding. I was trying to give her a kiss and this is the face she made. Luckily, the photographer was right there to catch this priceless look! Almost everyone that sees it says she looks like Lucille Ball from I love Lucy!

April Fun...and some March stuff too :)

March and April (so far) have been full of lots of family time and fun outside time. It is hard to keep the kids inside when it feels so great out and stays light so much later now. Andy and I set up chairs in the driveway and let the kids (Chloe included) run around, riding their toys and playing in the backyard.
Here are some pics from the last month or so...
LG made a birdhouse. She and Andy hung it on a tree in the backyard. A couple of weeks ago, I saw it on the ground, broken and told Andy that he better get it up and fix it before she saw it. Well...fast forward to yesterday when she comes around the corner with both pieces in her hand and says, "I have a feeling this is why no birds come to my birdhouse!" I laughed until I cried! But as you can tell, she was not happy about it.
Andy took the kids to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt Saturday morning while I was in Oxford. Apparently, Carson was ready to get started before everyone else arrived.
 Sweet siblings!
That afternoon after nap, we all went to Home Depot to get some plants and to Dairy Queen for dinner, so we could sit on their patio. We needed some selfies. :)

My BFF since 5th grade got married in March. The entire wedding party and their families stayed in this house on a private beach in Orange Beach. It was a busy weekend!
LG was the flower girl and I was the Matron of Honor. Carson took one look at LG and I walking onto the beach in the wedding processional and started screaming for his Mama! Andy had to walk about 200 feet down the beach to get out of earshot so as soon as it was over, all he wanted to do was to be held by me.
Look at that devilish little grin, with his tongue stuck out to the side!
Andy had us take a pic on the beach~your typical Christmas card pic...so don't be surprised if you see this again in 8 months! ;)
