The last few weeks...

I have started to feel that I should only post if I have a picture to go with whatever I am talking about. I don't know if it's because I enjoy looking at other people's blog pictures so much or what but I have waited to post on a lot of stuff until I had some pics.
Carson turned 10 months old on September 15. It would be an underestimation to say he is getting big~I don't even know the word for it is...huge, maybe, but he is the length and weight of the average 2 year old. I had to switch him to 24 month clothes. I was in complete denial for a while but our pediatrician told Andy (when he took him in to see why he was running a fever) that the 18 month outfit he had on was too small. Ahhhh! What?! He weighed 27.9 lbs that day. I keep thinking at any minute he will start to level off but at this rate, he'll be in 3T clothes by his 1 year b-day.
I had a grant planning meeting last Saturday at the public library and I had to take Carson with me. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and Carson got sleepy during the last 45 minutes. Bradshaw tried to get him to go to sleep by bouncing him up and down. Not happening~there was too much going on for him to rest. But just check out how long he is.
He crawled around on the floor for most of the time and tended to get in people's business. Can you find him here? :)
If you look closely, he is at the other end of the table and all you can see are his eyes and his forehead peeking up at my friend/co-worker, Brooke.
Speaking of Brooke, she and her husband (Andy's BFF, Brian) live super close to us now. We love it! Last Sunday we took all of our kids to Desoto Central Primary school to play~they have a fabulous playground!
This is Brooke and Brian's youngest. Carson is 3 months older than her and 13 lbs heavier. I did her hair. :)
Their oldest son is 25 months old~15 months older than Carson~and Carson weighs 7 lbs more than him!
Friday night, our cousin cheered at the high school game as part of a cheerleading clinic. LG was so excited about being there and hanging with the "big" girls.
This is all the young cheerleaders lined up at the end zone during the first quarter. LG memorized one of the cheers they did and kept doing it all weekend. :)
We had a fun weekend. I love this time of year~football games, cool, crisp weather, pumpkins, Halloween, Fall festivities! I am looking forward to many more fun weekends to come!

Bears and Jewels

Lilley Grace was invited to her cousin's b-day party at Build-a-Bear in Collierville last Saturday. She had a good time and got to "build" her own bear~"Star." This is a picture of all of the kids making funny faces~I guess LG thought her face looked funny enough because she just smiled.
While we were there we saw this bear~dressed up in FUR...is that appropriate? A bear wearing leopard print and another animal's fur? Is that some sort of PETA violation? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to a little fur on a coat or leather on a purse but do they really think this bear would be OK with it?
 ;)
The other night I told LG to clean up her room. She had dumped out her "accessories bucket" all over the floor looking for something earlier in the day. After about 10 minutes, she comes out with 4 barrettes and 2 head bands in her hair...
and 3 bracelets, a ring, a necklace and her sunglasses on! LOL!!! She walked right past me to go upstairs like what she had on was completely normal. I said, "Hold up, sista! I have to get a picture of this." Then without prompting, she struck a pose! Get out of here!! She is such a mess!

A mouse in the house...

The most interesting thing that happened to me this week was that there was a baby mouse in my office. He was so cute! We caught him in a box and asked some kids to take him outside to the back of the soccer field. Instead, they took him to their wrestling coach, who called a friend at Petco. This friend assured the coach that he would take "Boo Boo" the mouse and raise him at Petco. Hmmm...I hope he doesn't end up as snake food. :)
LG went to her BFF's b-day party at the JUMP place last Saturday and had to be right beside him~on the b-day throne with him~while he opened his presents. I swear I told her she couldn't and only if he wanted her to, could she get up there with him. She promptly asked him and like a typical man, he couldn't say no. LOL!!!
LG started choir this past Wednesday night and I started a bible study on John with one of my favorite associate pastors, Tim Russell. He makes you want to jump out of your seat and praise Jesus!!~that's my little touch of Baptist in my Presbyterian church. Last week, LG sang "Mary Had a Little Lamb" for us and when she got to the end of the first stanza she sang:
"His feet was white as snow."
Oh my gosh!! How precious is that? Of course, we did not correct her. If that is any indication of how choir is going to go, it is going to be a fun semester!!!
Not sure if you've noticed this but Carson has got some big ole thighs! He just keeps getting bigger and bigger. There is no amount of crawling or walking that can help this boy right now. I love it~every pound of it! We saw a pediatrician at our church last Sunday whose son weighs 21 lbs at 4 months. So now I feel completely justified~if a pediatrician can raise a fat baby, so can I! ;)
And Chloe continues to be an escape artist. No matter how we rig up the gate in the door, she gets out. It's kind of funny. Today, I just told Andy to shut the laundry room door. I'm sure she'll either figure out how to open the door, smoosh herself down flat like a mouse and crawl under it, or scratch a hole clean through it. I guess I'll see when I get home. Have a great weekend!
