Mystery solved!

Back in May I wrote a post called "Where does she get that hair from?" We constantly get asked that question because as you know neither Andy nor I have the color or style of hair that LG has. Well, the mystery has been solved! This morning the director of her preschool asked Andy (in front of LG), "Where does she get her hair from, her mother or her father?" Before Andy could answer LG said, "Jesus!!!"

DUH!!!!!!

Comparison~Scary!!!

OMG!!!!! Just 17 short weeks ago I thought I was showing! HA!!! Look at me now. Can you tell I'm pregnant? ;) Now I'm just praying I will get back to where I started.

32 weeks

The countdown is on~7 weeks and counting!! 7 weeks is such a short time!!! It'll be here before we know it. My hip joints and lower back are aching. Carson has the hiccups all the time now and his movements are so big that sometimes I am sore after he moves in one spot over and over again. I am still sleeping the majority of the night but waking up more frequently to go to the bathroom or switch positions. Overall I feel good though. I did have indigestion this morning for absolutely no reason. I hadn't even eaten yet. I took a couple of sips of vitamin water. I hope that is not a foreshadowing of heartburn issues to come. Regardless of what comes, I only have a few more weeks to deal with it.

I really want to enjoy these last weeks because this is probably the last time I will be pregnant and there is nothing else in the world like it. It has its downside but it also has such good aspects that will be hard to let go of forever. At least when I had LG I knew that I would most likely experience pregnancy again. This time I fear the time when Carson is 3 years old and I am thinking about never having a BABY again...hmmmm...Andy said he was going to ask me if I still feel this way when Carson is 6 weeks old :) We'll see...

Daddy's little helper

LG is fascinated by her Daddy's lawn equipment. Anytime he brings it home to either cut our yard or a couple of the yards he does in our neighborhood she wants to "help" him. He is so sweet about it and takes the time to let her ride on the mowers with him for a few minutes. As you can see in the second pic, she had gotten her bubble blowing lawn mower out and was "helping" him by mowing our yard while he was doing the yard across the street. She quickly dropped that little mower to ride with her Daddy on the big one! All that just melts my heart!

31 weeks and OCD

So, here I am at 31 weeks. I went for my check up on Wednesday. I've gained a total of 19 lbs so far (5 lbs in the last 4 weeks). I'm not sure how much I had gained at this point with LG but I know I gained a total of 28 lbs so maybe I'm on that track again...BP was good, of course taken at my therapist's office the day before :). I feel good overall. I'm waking up quite a bit more at night, about every hour instead of every two hours but at least I can go right back to sleep. Dr. Peeler wants to induce me on November 15th, 6 days before my due date, just so we can be more confident that he will be the one to deliver the baby. I mean who else is going to understand the BP issue like he does? ;) Don't want to chance it so I think that's the route we are taking. If that's the case, I only have 7 1/2 weeks to go!!!! Wow, scary but exciting too!

On to the OCD part of this post. Now quite sure where she gets it from (LOL) but I think LG has a touch of OCD. Every night she lines her favorite books up as a "train track." The track has to be PERFECTLY straight and I do mean PERFECTLY! If one book gets knocked out of place, it is a code red! I took this last night after the books were lined up.
She is too funny! Every day she says something or does something that makes me think, "where did she get that from?" She is the light of my life. I can't imagine loving another as much as I love her but someone once told me that God gives us a separate "love tank" for each child so we don't have to take out of the first one's tank to give to the second one...we have a whole new storage place for love for #2. Looking forward to watching both tanks grow!!!

Life Saver!!!

This is the Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock and Nightlight. This clock has saved mine (and subsequently LG's) life! This clock can be found on Amazon.com for 39.95, and IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!! You can push the "foot" of it and it will say the time out loud, helping your child to learn how to tell time. However, that in no way compares to the FABULOUS light changing feature. You can set this clock to change to yellow (not just the face, the whole white part of the clock) at say, 7 PM, right as you begin to put your child to bed and it acts as a nightlight. Then, you can set it to change to green at whatever time you would like for your child to get out of bed the next morning. So, for example, ours is set to turn from white to yellow at 7 PM and from yellow to green at 6:45 AM because I do not want LG getting out of her bed before then. It has worked like a charm for us!

When LG was two and pre-clock, she went through about a month where she would get out of the bed at 5 or 5:30 AM~not acceptable!!!!! I tried to tell her she could not get out of the bed before the sun came up but when springtime hit, we were back in the same boat. Then, a wonderful friend (Kim S.) told me about this clock. Fast forward a year and this clock has become her pass to get out of the bed and not a second before, even if she is awake.

This past weekend she went to bed both Friday and Saturday night around 9 PM, which is very late for her, so I changed her wake up time to 7:45 AM. I forgot to change it back and during the week, Andy gets her up no later than 7 AM. OOPS~the clock was still yellow when he went to get LG. Even though she was awake, she was still lying in her bed and told Andy that he could not talk to her yet because her clock was not green!!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!! Like I said, works like a charm! If you are having issues with your child getting out of bed too early or in the night, get this clock!! You will not be sorry!

30 1/2 weeks

Sorry for the delay in posting. My phone went crazy and that's how I take my pics. I missed last week but I don't feel like a lot has changed with the belly in the past couple of weeks so you didn't miss much. One thing that has changed, which I did not experience with LG, is the protrusion of my belly button. I had to put a band aid over it today because my dress rubbed up against it so much yesterday, it made it super sensitive. The band aid, by the way, is a Cars' band aid! LOL!! Don't judge me~it's all we had.

Sleeping is getting increasingly difficult (position-wise) and I'm starting to not be able to eat very much at each sitting. I feel so full right after I start eating. It kind of sucks because I really enjoy food. :) I go to the dr for my check up next Wednesday so we'll see what's new.

I have to find some curtains for Carson's room! I started out trying to buy fabric to have someone make them but after one trip to Hancock's and being completely overwhelmed with all the different fabrics and colors, I have decided to buy pre-made curtains. Well, I take that back, I am going to give it one more shot this weekend~I'm going to JoAnn's and The Premiere, both recommended by my "decorating/sewing/creative" friends. If that doesn't work, navy curtains from PBK it is! Wish me luck!!!!!!

Carson at 28 weeks

Well, I have decided Carson is stubborn, just like his daddy!! :) I went today for a 4D ultrasound and he refused to look at the camera. My friend (the tech) said she "hadn't seen a baby that balled up in a long time." He was facing my back and buried in the placenta, asleep the whole time. She kept pushing on him and jiggling him around and he wouldn't budge!! This was the best picture she could get! Out of 30 minutes, he turned his face slightly towards the front for about 2 minutes!!

He is measuring at right at 3 lbs and has a "big head!" I am not shocked at all. LG has a big head~I can hardly get shirts over it! Sometimes I feel like I need a shoe horn! LOL!!!!! He is breach right now. Hopefully he'll turn around in the next few weeks.

My mom went with me and when we got to the dr's office, Andy's step mom was sitting outside of the dental office next door. His dad was inside having some work done. How crazy!!! She was able to come in with us to see Carson and then Andy's dad came in when he was done next door. I am so excited that they got to experience that with us. Maybe we'll get to do it again before he gets here. 11 weeks to go!!!!!

28 weeks

Well, I'm officially in the 3rd trimester and starting to really "feel" it. I am waking up a lot at night, going to the bathroom at least twice a night, having a hard time getting comfortable and staying cool. I am thirsty and tired all the time! Also, Carson's movements are getting bigger and more pronounced. I can see an elbow or knee or whatever moving across or sticking out of my belly. :) I am going to my friend's office today to have an ultrasound. I will post a pic as soon as I get back!

Ode to the doughnut...

I can't say enough about doughnuts! They are divine little pieces of heaven! I wish I could eat one for every meal! I have craved them so much this pregnancy. Because of my cholesterol, I do not usually eat doughnuts but over the past 5 months I have never stopped wanting one. With the exception of during pregnancy, when I crave something and then eat it, the craving goes away~not so much with the doughnuts. I have tried to limit myself to once a week~usually Sundays in Sunday School class. However, the past couple of weekends, LG has wanted to go on Saturday mornings and how can I deny my own child, right? :) I mean look at that face!

Also, I limit myself to ONE doughnut, but there's always ways to get around things. :) There is this doughnut twist...it's one doughnut but I think it's actually the dough of two doughnuts twisted together!! What a great idea!!! YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!
